Ravenwood is a mid-century modern home nestled in the trees of Athens, Georgia. Built in the spirit of the great mid-century architects — clean lines, honest materials, and a deep connection to the natural landscape — the house had good bones and a great story waiting to be told.
Over the course of an extensive renovation, we worked with some of the most talented architects, builders, and landscape designers in the region to transform Ravenwood into what it is today: a home that honors its origins while feeling entirely of the present.
The project touched every corner of the property — from the dramatic black-painted exterior and new addition, to the recessed concrete front patio, Corten steel planters, and custom hardwood screens that define the entry. Inside, the original mid-century geometry was preserved and celebrated, with new finishes and details that feel both timeless and fresh.
The grounds were completely reimagined, with a landscape design that solves the site's natural drainage challenges while creating a series of outdoor rooms that extend the living space into the trees.
Ravenwood is our home, our project, and our ongoing love letter to mid-century modern architecture.
